Hamilton 2003 – Women\’s RR – Erinn Willock Interview

October 11, 2003 – Pedal Magazine had a chance to speak with Erinn Willock briefly a couple of days before her race today. This will be Willock's first World Championship experience.

Pedal: What are your goals going into the race?

Willock: I just want to have a good day and be there for the team as much as possible. That's what I'm here for. Once I've done my job and they're up the road, and I can focus on trying to finish my race and that. But mostly I just want to help out the leaders as much as possible.

Pedal: Erinn, what's your story? How did you get here today?

Willock: I started in cadet and I was fourteen, cadet, junior – I did mountain biking and road and then track, I did all three. Took it pretty low key but I had fun with it. So now I'm focusing on the road.

Pedal: You went to the mountain bike world championships as a junior?

Willock: I was at the '99 MTB Worlds in Sweden.

Pedal: Do you have friends and family here today?

Willock: Yes, my boyfriend and my Dad. It's cool that that they came out!

Pedal: Good luck today!

Willock: Thanks
