October 11, 2003 – Canada's junior cyclist, Kevin Lacombe is reported in stable condition and is improving. He has been upgraded to serious condition and is expected to make a complete recovery. It is likely that he will lead the Intensive Care Unit later today.

October 11, 2003 (Hamilton, ON) – Sean O'Donnell, of the CCA (Canadian Cycling Association) announced at 5pm this afternoon that although Kevin Lacombe remains in critical condition, he is expected to have full recovery. Reportedly, Lacombe has fractured his orbital bone (bone above the eye). He remains sedated; which the doctors announce is normal at this stage.
