October 10, 2003 – After an exciting junior women's road race, the Espoir men are milling around the startline, preparing to line up for their 172.5k road race. Look for strong team performances from the Squadra Azzurri – Italy – as well as Canada's own Peter Mazur riding for the Polish team. Ireland has hopes in a familiar name: Nicolas Roche, son of former Tour, Giro and World's winner Stephen Roche. Canada has six espoirs ready to roll: Dominique Rollin, Chris Isaacs, Murray Carter, Martin Gilbert, Cory Jay and Jean-Sebastien Maheu.
