Hamilton 2003 – Elite Women\’s Preview

October 11, 2003 – At 12:45PM the Elite women are set to hit the streets of Hamilton to decide who will wear the rainbow jersey the next year. Canada is fielding one of their strongest teams in recent memory, led by Sue Palmer-Komar, Lyne Bessette and Genevieve Jeanson. Amy Moore, Erinne Willock and Manon Jutras complete the team. However the competition is fierce, with opposition coming from a strong American squad led by Dede Barry, a French squad with Jeannie Longo, and strong powerful squads from Russia, Spain and Italy. Also look for defending champion Susanne Ljungskog from Sweden.The women will be riding 124kms, which is 10 laps of the tough circuit. There are 116 riders registered.
