October 11, 2003 – Nicole Cooke (GBR) and Olga Zabelinkskaia (RUS) attacked on the descent into town, and have now forced the pace. the pack has been chasing and all the favourites have been very active at the front. Sue Palmer-Komar (Canada) is at the front and looks very comfortable. The lead group is dwindling in size as the toll of the race is taken by the riders.
