Guru Cycles Supports Canadian Forces w/Custom Bikes Inspired by CF-18 Fighter Aircraft

release by Guru Cycles

May 22, 2014 (Montreal, QC) – Guru Cycles Inc. is proud to announce that they are donating two ultra-custom Photon Superlight complete bikes to the Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Bagotville charity trust fund.

Guru Cycles is a high-end bike manufacturer that produces handmade bicycle framesets in carbon fiber, titanium and steel. Guru hand-builds their frames in Laval Quebec, which is a hub for aerospace and composite technologies; which no doubt attracted the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) officers who were looking to purchase new custom bikes made in Canada, and Guru took the initiative one step further.

“The opportunity to work directly with CFB Bagotville officers was an ideal situation to demonstrate our manufacturing abilities, while giving back to our Troops and the communities. Our skilled metal and carbon artisans worked tirelessly to build two Photon SL bikes inspired by the CF-18 Hornet Fighter Aircrafts that our Air Force fly,” said Ted Matthews, CEO.

The CFB Bagotville team is participating in the Grand Defi Pierre Lavoie from June 12-15th, where their team will collectively ride 1000km across Quebec, Canada. After the event both bikes will be auctioned off to support the CFB Bagotville charity trust fund which support the surrounding community. The value of these two Photon Superlight bikes are in excess of $30,000.

The custom paint scheme and machined head badge holding a 90th anniversary (RCAF) coin are just some of the custom options that sets these bikes and Guru Cycles apart. Such extensive manufacturing is custom in design and price, however this project for Charity was a priceless endeavor for Guru Cycles.
