Jan 1, 2004 – Oleg Grichkine, formerly of the Navigators Insurance Cycling Team (as of today) added to his victory tally in the Tour Of The South China Sea by taking the victory in stage-6 as well as the Overall G.C. following today's stage-8 criterium in Macau. Grichkine, now racing with the Moscow City Sports Association (Russia National  Team), won four of the eight stages, including a hat-trick with wins in stages 4, 5, 6. The winner of today's final 66Km stage was Grichkine's teammate Sergey Koudentsov, making him the first champion of 2004. Grichkine's winning margin was 17-seconds in front of Kam Po Wong (Pocari Sweat Hong  Kong) and 31-seconds in front of Peter Milostic (Bicisport Australia). Grichkine is also the winner of the Points Competition.
