September 4, 2004 – Canada’s Dominique Perras (Ofoto/Lombardi) and Amy Moore (Quark) won the Prologue at the 4th annual Mad River Valley Green Mountain Stage Race Vermont, USA, September 3-6, 2004. Near perfect conditions greeted riders. In the men’s race Perras attacked early and held on for the win over defending champ Mark McCormack (Colavita/Bolla) and teammate Todd Herriott.

Amy Moore (Quark) rode a smart race and battled the CRCA/Aquafina squad to come with the win. Caught between Aquafina’s Katherine Lambden and Liza Rochetto with 2 km to go Moore waited for her chance to lauch her winning attack with Lambden taking second and Rochetto third.

Sunday’s first stage will be contested on a 31k loop in the towns of Moretown, Duxbury, Waterbury, and Middlesex.
