July 17, 2013 (Niagara, ON) – GranFondo Canada is proud to announce a free concert featuring the Juno award winning Jim Cuddy and the legendary Barney Bentall at the Finish Celebration of the inaugural GranFondo Niagara Falls. The concert will begin at 1:00 pm on September 14, in Queen Victoria Park. Niagara residents are invited to celebrate with thousands of riders as they cross the finish line of the mass participation cycling event.
The epic ride will start right at the Falls with Cuddy, Bentall and thousands of other riders. From there, the course will travel along the scenic Niagara Parkway to Niagara-On-The-Lake, then through the region’s acclaimed wine country and idyllic countryside including the winding rollers around Short Hills Provincial Park. When riders finish at the Falls, they will join their family, friends and community to celebrate their achievement at the Celebration Plaza in Queen Victoria Park where Bentall and Cuddy will take the stage.
“I’ve been cycling seriously for about 30 years. Riding never lets me down and it continues to give me the same joy and happiness,” says Bentall. “I don’t think I’ve ever felt bad after a ride. It verges on the mystical!”
“I can’t wait to ride the Fondo. Love the ride, the landscape and the camaraderie with the other riders,” says Cuddy. “I especially like the glass of wine that awaits at the finish line.”
