May 06, 2014 (Brossard, QC) – The fourth stage of the Tour de la Montérégie was held on Sunday in Brossard, with Kristi Lay (SAS Mazda Macogep p/b Specialized) successfully defending the leader’s jersey in the 55-minute women’s race and Matteo Dal Cin (Stevens Racing) scoring victory in the Senior Men’s competition over 75 minutes of racing over a of 1.8km course.

Lay fought off a multitude of attacks from her rivals to take the win and the peloton split in two in the rainy conditions. The race ended in a sprint, with lay crossing the line first, followed by Ellen Watters (Stevens The Cyclery) in second and Elisabeth Albert (La Vie Sportive Apogée) third.

Yohan Patry (Equipe Transports Lacombe/Devinci) has again distinguished itself by sparking a breakaway after just five laps. For breakaway companions he had William Goodfellow (Silber Pro Cycling) and Matteo Dal Cin (Stevens Racing) while other  Lacombe Transport / Devinci team members valiantly held the fort for their teammate Patry to continue his momentum.

In the end, Patry took third place behind Matteo Dal Cin (1st) and William Goodfellow (2nd). This allowed Patry  to take the lead in the Tour de la Montérégie series. We should also mention the great work of Stephen Keeping (Equipe Transports Lacombe/Devinci) who finished in 5th place.
