GP Elsy Jacobs Prologue, Stage 1 Results – Kirchmann 17th in Prologue UPDATED

May 03, 2014 (Luxembourg) – Leah Kirchmann (Canadian National Team) led the Canadian charge in 17th at the opening round 2.59km Prologue in Luxembourg at the Festival Luxembourgeois du cyclisme féminin Elsy Jacobs 2014 won by Marianne Vos (Ned) Rabo Liv Women Cycling Team. Eleonora Van Dijk (Ned) Boels Dolmans Cycling Team was second and Shelley Olds (USA) Alé Cipollini claimed third.

Stage 1 in Garnich, 105.19km, won by Anna Van der Breggen (Ned) Rabo Liv Woman Cycling Team saw her take over the GC lead with Shelley Olds (USA) Ale Cipolini in second and Giorgia Bronzini (Ita) Wiggle Honda in third. Canada’s Annie Ewart finished 51st as the top Canuck while Kirchmann and Catherine Dessureault DNF’d.
