May 20, 2011 (Gatineau, QC) – Following yesterday’s Chrono Gatineau the riders gathered for the team presentations hosted by Gatineau Mayor, Marc Bureau, in preparation for Saturday’s 103.4km Grand Prix Cycliste Gatineau Hydro-Québec women’s road race (11×9.4km). Among those honoured were Giorgia Bronzini from Italy the reigning Road World Champ; defending GP Gatineau RR champion Joelle Numainville; Chrono Gatineau winner and Olympic medalist Clara Hughes; Caroline Brunet a 3-time Olympic medalist; and the legendary Jeannie Longo-Ciprelli from France.
