February 17, 2007 – Giro organizer, RCS Sport, announced the four wildcard teams invited for the 2007 Giro d’Italia – Astana, Tinkoff Credit Systems, Acqua & Sapone-Caffè Mokambo and Ceramica Panaria-Navigare – bringing the total to 22 teams. Excluded was Unibet.com which conflicts with UCI and the ProTour, and while no action has been announced by the UCI the problem with Grand Tour organizers RCS Sport, the ASO and Unipublic continues. The 90th edition of the Giro d’Italia runs from May 12 to June 3, 2007.
