May 27, 2016 (Risoul, ITA) – Former Giro, Vuelta and TdF winner, Vincenzo Nibali (Ita) Astana Pro Team, took charge on Stage 19 from Pinerolo to Risoul, 162km, with a decisive victory by 51s to move into second overall behind new race leader Esteban Chaves (Col) Orica-GreenEdge. Chaves finished third on the stage at 2s behind  Mikel Nieve (Esp) Team Sky. Canada’s Hugo Houle (Can) AG2R La Mondiale was 28th on the stage and now sits 69th overall.
