The purpose of Giro de Canada is to provide road cyclists the opportunity to explore and compete in road races on some of Canada’s most scenic routes (not just the most accessible). On July 24 2012, Giro de Canada is kicking-off the inaugural year by bringing together 250 cyclists in the Yukon Territory, for an exhilarating four-day, road bike stage race. The Giro de Canada will draw in a mix of cyclists, from elite hard core racers to recreational riders. Participants are encouraged to sign up in teams of four or more; however, individuals and teams of two are welcome. Entries are capped at 250 participants and spots are filling up fast.
The Giro de Canada Yukon is run by the 4 What Matters Foundation (4WM). 4WM is a registered charitable foundation of Canada. The foundation is the culmination of many years of work, starting with a bicycle race across Canada in 2007. Since this time, the foundation has completed 3 cross Canada fundraising rides and more than 35 student lead, indoor, spin-a-thons. Many hours have gone into building a reputable charitable organization capable of making a major difference in the world.
Riding the Giro de Canada supports the 4 What Matters Foundation’s continuing efforts to make a difference via the seat of a bicycle.
