August 18, 2011 (Rock Hill, South Carolina) – Here are some photos and an update on the progress of the Giordana Velodrome, which is under construction in Rock Hill, South Carolina and is projected to open in February. The track will be 250m in length with 42.5-degree banking.

There will be 11 inch thick concrete “plates” that will sit on top of the cement supports you see in the ground. The first plate has to be approved by the architect before starting the installation.

The plaza next to the track will have a community centre, office space, shopping and restaurants with a Velo Deck for better viewing of the track.  For anyone from Ontario or Quebec,  it’s only a 13hr drive to Rock Hill.
