Giant Canada Team Update

February 4, 2004 – Giant Canada's new team rider, Danika Schroeter, is keeping busy this winter by training and racing on indoor BMX tracks. Schroeter just came back from this past weekends B.C. Super Cup indoor BMX race where she finished second in the Women's 20-inch category aboard a Giant Mosh four star BMX. Schroeter is looking forward to the first Canadian National series BMX race held in the Agrifair Arena in Abbotsford, B.C. this coming February 28-29.

Schroeter is also keeping busy with the design of her personal racing website. Once it is up and running I will send out the URL so everyone can go and view it.

Bike Clinic Giant Canada's Eric Goss is also keeping busy with his kids bike clinics he is helping run. This past weekend was another successful clinic, although this session was more geared towards younger athletes who want to start taking steps to further their athletic performances.

The clinic started with a presentation and slideshow, with lots of racing shots, then onto a computrainer set-up where Eric taught the kids how to do a proper warm up, stretch, workout, cool down routine.

After each student did warm up exercises they measured each young athlete as they cycled through a three minute wattage output test on the computrainer, with the top three students receiving prizes for their efforts.

Goss' next clinic is this coming February 21st and will be focused on different forms of cross training and winter riding.

Come this March Goss will also be heading down to North Carolina to get in some good mountain bike training then after that he will be heading up to the athlete quarters at the National team training center in Bromont, Quebec. Eric will spend time training and preparing in Bromont, Quebec until the racing season starts in May.
