September 21, 2004 – Giant Canada’s Brant Lyon made the trip to Mt.
Washington resort on Vancouver Island, British Columbia for the Provincial
finals. After Brant’s disappointment with not being able to race the
Canadian National series finals because of a torn shoulder, Brant was all
about redemption here!

Every downhill racer wishes for that elusive perfect run, no bobbles, no
clipping out and dialling every corner – it’s rare when it comes along, but
that’s what spectators were treated to during Brant’s race run for the
Provincial finals! Brant was so on his game that he easily claimed first
place and he did so by charging ahead of second place by over 16 seconds!
That’s unheard of in the professional ranks!

To top it off, Brant’s race win also moved him into first place in the
Provincial points standings. Brant walked away with the race win as well
as the B.C. Provincial Championship overall.
