May 29, 2007 (Berlin, Germany) — The German government, in an attempt to advance the fight against doping, recently adopted a draft sports doping law whereby anyone caught selling sports doping products could be prosecuted according to an AFP report.
Athletes caught doping would continue to be dealt with by the relevant sporting authorities, but those with “significant quantities” of drugs could face prosecution under the new measures. The bill still has to be approved by parliament.
