July 05, 2016 – Two-time winter Olympian and five-time Ski Cross World Cup medalist, Georgia Simmerling had a season-ending crash in 2015. After breaking her neck and back and returning to her skis in 2012, she was again determined to recover from her shattered wrist injury in 2015. During her recovery, she started training incredibly hard on her bike. She made a goal to make the Canadian Track Cycling Team and earn a shot at competing in the 2016 Rio Olympics. She has earned that opportunity and has now officially been selected to compete in Rio with the Canadian Endurance Team Pursuit Cycling Team.
Georgia’s story is gritty, full of determination and about never giving up. She is an example of how we can all achieve our goals if we set our minds to it.
