Gears Racing Canada Cup Short Track

June 5, 2004 – The Gears Racing Canada Cup saw some of the best Short Track
Racing today. The course started with a quick double track climb to the top
of the Dual DH course and ran the riders down the Dual DH to the Finish
line. Each lap was approx. 1:30, and riders were visible through most of
the course. The riders all kept very close, and excited crowds with tight
cornering and a few minor spills. Mark Batty (3 Rox Racing), took the
Junior Men honours, with Wendy Simms (Steed Cycles), and Greg Reain (Gears
Racing, taking the Senior titles.

Hardwood Hills also hosted 75 riders participating in the Bike for the Cure
Charity ride for the Breast Cancer Foundation raising over $3,000. There
were also over 150 Adventure Racers in teams of three completing a
grueling Adventure Racing Canada event, consisting of biking, trekking,
and paddling across the Lake Country surrounding Hardwood Hills.
