December 12, 2012 (Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, QC) – It is with happiness and pride that Louis Garneau presented this morning a cheque in the amount of $60,636 to Les Petits Frères, amount raised during the 2012 edition of the Garneau-Cascades Granfondo presented by Québecor.

For Pascal Fournier, the director of Les Petits Frères, this is a significant amount. “We are so privileged to be supported by Mr. Garneau and his team, as well as sponsors and participants of the 2012 Granfondo. The funds raised will be once again put towards Les Petit Frères’ summer cottage located at Lac St. Joseph. The profits from the Granfondo Garneau-Cascades enable us to have access to drinking water, to adequate rooms, and a more functional kitchen. As of the summer of 2013, not only will we be able to accommodate a greater number of Old Friends in a more pleasant environment, but we will also be able to offer them the possibility of an overnight stay.”

According to Louis Garneau, the organizer of the event, the funds raised exceed his initial expectations: “It is incredible that we were able to collect such a substantial amount for Les Petits Frères. I would like to thank the 2,000 participants for helping us present Les Petits Frères, an organization that is so important to me, with such a significant amount. Get ready for 2013, because our goals are even higher!’’

Granfondo Garneau-Cascades 2013
