Garmin Announces Three New Cycling Products

April 20, 2018 – Garmin is excited to announce three new cycling products, the Edge 130, the Edge 520, Plus and Varia RTL510 rearview radar, to coincide with the 2018 Sea Otter Classic taking place from April 19-22 in Monterey, California.

The Edge® 130 is a compact and lightweight, yet rugged, GPS bike computer with easy-to-use navigation and unique cycling awareness features. Whether riding on singletrack, wide-open trails or busy city streets, the 1.8-inch sunlight readable display gives cyclists a crisp view of the screen while the five-button design provides greater ease of use on any terrain. Featuring downloadable routes and turn prompts, the Edge 130 includes LiveTrack, letting friends and family keep track of a rider’s location in real time. The Edge 130 features up to 15 hours of battery life and is compatible with the line of Varia™ cycling awareness products.

The Edge 520 Plus includes advanced navigation, performance monitoring capabilities and connected features that’s built for use during any ride. It includes Garmin Cycle Maps with turn-by-turn directions for on- and off-road routes preferred by fellow cyclists. Whether hitting the trails or city streets, cyclists can stay connected with GroupTrack, rider-to-rider messaging and built-in Incident Detection. For riders looking for advanced performance monitoring features, the Edge 520 Plus is compatible with ANT+® power meters like the Vector™ 3 to track FTP and cycling dynamics.

The Varia RTL510 rearview radar is an updated radar unit with a sleek new design and enhanced safety features. When paired with a dedicated radar display unit or compatible Garmin device, including the new Edge 130 and Edge 520 Plus, cyclists will receive both visible and audible alerts for vehicles approaching from behind, up to 153 yards away. Featuring a sleek vertical design that easily mounts to the seat post of most road-use bikes, the tail light is visible in daylight up to a mile away in both solid and flashing modes.
