Full Cycling Weekend at Bromont National Cycling Centre

June 15, 2006 – Many cycling activities will take place at the Bromont National Cycling Centre this weekend. The best cyclists from Quebec will face off against each other on Saturday, June 17 during the Quebec Track Cup series. The competitions will start at 9:30 a.m. on a 250-metre wooden track in the same Velodrome used for the 1996 Olympic Games and subsequently moved from Atlanta to Bromont. The day will end with prizes, medal presentations, and bursaries.

Visitors can watch the competitions or try a free demonstration of some twenty mountain bikes (cross-country and descent) made by Marin, offered in collaboration with Ubac cycling shop in Bromont. The activity will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Then Sunday, June 18 sees another manufacturer, Cannondale, offering twenty mountain bikes (cross-country and descent) available for free demos from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in collaboration with cycling shop, Momo Sport, of nearby Granby.

Bromont, which functions as a downhill ski mountain in wintertime, claims to have the most complete bicycling facilities in North America. Apart from the Velodrome, there is a BMX track, cross-country trails, and descent riding.

We hope to see you at 400 Shefford Street in Bromont! From Montreal, Bromont is about 45 minutes east on Highway 10. From exit 78, follow signs to the ski hill.
