release by Rocky Mountain Bicycles

September 22, 2010 (Las Vegas, NV) – Rocky Mountain Bicycles is thrilled to announce the induction of legendary freeriders Wade Simmons, Brett Tippie, and Richie Schley into the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame today at the Interbike trade show in Las Vegas.

Simmons, Tippie, and Schley, who first earned global recognition as part of Rocky Mountains Froriders team, defined the sport of freeride mountain biking in its early years. The three B.C. riders, through their innovative and extreme riding style, brought freeriding to the forefront of mountain bike culture, where it remains to this day. All three riders are mainstays of the mountain bike community and icons of the sport, still shredding with the best in the world.

For those attending the Interbike tradeshow in Las Vegas this week, this is your chance to witness history being made with the first induction of freeride mountain bikers into the Hall of Fame. Come support the boys and recognize their contribution to the sport we all love.

Also being inducted this year are John Ker, (Journalism) the legendary photographer for Mountain Bike Action, Jim Wannamaker, (Promotion) a knowledgeable, likeable, hard working ambassador for mountain biking and rider/racer support, and Alan Bonds, (Pioneers) an integral part of the early Marin County fat-tire scene.

The ceremony is at 6pm in the Sands Convention Center.
