December 6, 2006 (Montreal, QC) – The Fédération Québecoise des Sports Cyclistes (FQSC) has posted a seasonal job offer for its mountain bike timing crew for the 2007 season. Ideally, the FQSC wants to recruit two additional people to time races across Quebec. The work involved is principally on weekends with some minor tasks during the week. The job posting (in French) makes mention of working under minimal supervision, showing leadership, demonstrating responsibility, and working well with a team.
Simon Thériault, the FQSC’s MB Adjoint sportif told Pedal that apart from the remuneration offered ($250 per weekend), the job offers a beautiful opportunity to travel to the four corners of Quebec. “This kind of job obviously appeals mainly to people who are passionate about cycling. Let me add that (the successful applicant) will work with a great gang!,” said Thériault.
Thériault was not opposed to hiring someone from outside Quebec, but mentioned that speaking French is a necessity for the job to be able to communicate with volunteers.
