February 6, 2005 – FOX Racing Shox is proud to introduce its completely new shock absorber for the CRF/XR 50 mini motocross market, the FOX FLOAT MXR AirShox. FOX Racing Shox was founded on the introduction of high performance air shock technology for the motocross market back in 1974, and is returning to its roots with the ultra-adjustable, ultra-light weight FLOAT MXR developed specifically for the rigorous and extreme demands of the highly popular mini motocross phenomenon. “It was my vision to create high-end air shocks for dirt bikes at a time when motocross was really taking off in the US and stock shock designs were not up to the performance demands being put on them,” stated Bob Fox, President of FOX Racing Shox.
“I knew I could make an air shock that would stand up to the rigors of the national motocross circuit.” “Our design objectives for the all-new FLOAT MXR were to develop a lightweight air shock around our race-proven oil damping system that is simple to adjust for any rider on any stock or after-market pit bike,” stated Michael Daws, VP of Powersports.
“Innovation and differentiation were key elements to the design of the FLOAT MXR and I definitely feel we were successful in achieving both.” The FLOAT MXR weighs only 1.1 lbs, is easy to install with no frame or seat modifications required, it’s rebuildable and revalvable and is the most adjustable shock available with external rebound and an infinitely adjustable air spring using only an air pump. With FOX’s newly developed superior damping performance coupled with its race-proven FLOAT infinite air spring adjustability (no springs required) the FLOAT MXR AirShox is the lightest, most adjustable shock available. Since 1974 FOX Racing Shox has been designing and manufacturing the finest suspension products for Motorcycles, Mountain Bikes, ATV’s and Snowmobiles.
