March 10, 2006 – The FloraGLO Lutein, BC Cup Series, kicks off in less than a month, on Sunday, April 9th, with the 2006 Harris-Roubaix Red Truck Classic. The four-race Harris-Roubaix promises to test not only a rider’s strength, stamina and determination, but also guarantees to push machinery to its limits. Last years winners include 3 time World Mountain Bike Champion, Alyson Sydor and Symmetrics pro team member, Will Routley.

The BC Cup Series is a high-performance cycling championship which awards points to the top 15 racers at seven events around BC. The Series is a stepping-stone to National and International competition, fostering the growth and development of BC’s racers by providing athletes with high-caliber competition, and providing the opportunity to develop both physical and psychological racing skills in a unique Series format.

BC Cup #1, Harris-Roubaix Red Truck Classic, is modeled closely after the infamous Paris-Roubaix. The race is one of the most grueling, flat road races in British Columbia, featuring a 9.5 Km course with two sections of gravel or pavé. Over 270 riders participated in last years 2005 Classic, bringing out top caliber riders, including World Champion Roland Green.
