July 4, 2005 – After a two week break, the Forest City Velodrome will be racing on Saturday night at 7pm. Regular London Track League as well as the Nas-Track Madison League will be racing.

Congratulations to everyone of the Forest City riders who participated at
Track Nationals in Calgary last week. Final results have no come in as of
this morning, however Julia Bradley took Silver in the Women’s 3000m
pursuit. On a sad note up and coming racer Eric Robertson had a bad crash
in Calgary on Friday, and has a shoulder injury. We wish Eric a speedy
recovery.

Other Velodrome news, we now have the car in the lobby from Highbury Ford
in London. As soon as we get a License will be having a draw for the use
of a new car for a year. Thanks to Albert and Brian and all the folks at
Highbury Ford for making this project happen.

Last Thursday we made our application for a Trillium Grant, we should have
information in September or October on the ways Trillium can help the
velodrome.

We have modified the ride times at the Velodrome for the summer check out
the website at www.ForestCityVelodrome.ca

We have put close to 70 riders through the Learn to Ride program so far,
Total membership for the F.C.V.A. is close to 50 paid members.

Thanks to the OCA for the article and cover of the monthly magazine to help promote the track.

We want to recruit youth aged 13 to 17 years old to develop athletes for
2006 and beyond, if you have any ideas give me a call.

See you at the races this Saturday night.
