Forest City Velodrome Masters Camp

April 15, 2005 “” The Forest City Velodrome is pleased to announce an open track camp for master riders at the new Velodrome in London, Ontario on Friday, April 29 and Saturday, April 30. This camp will introduce riders to the facility and get them up to speed over the course of the weekend.

The purpose of this Camp is to evaluate the fitness and potential of Masters Men and Women riders in preparation for the World Masters Games in Edmonton this summer.

There is open track time on Saturday for new riders to get on the track and learn to ride. Dust off your old track bikes, glue on the tires, and come out and give track a try.

Schedule:

Friday, April 29
5pm – 7pm: Track learn-to-ride program for first time riders of the London Track
7pm – 8pm: On-track tempo riding and pace lines to get use to the track.
8pm: Flying 100m timed (this should give us the top speed of the riders)

Saturday, April 30
9am – 10am: Warm-up Quickie LTR
10am – 11am: Flying 200m timed (always a good measure of speed)
11am — noon: Flying 500m x2 timed (give riders minimal recovery 20min.)
2pm – 3pm: Flying 1000m timed (measure the endurance of the riders)
6pm-10pm: Racing Nas-Track Madison league and regular mass start races

FCVA and OCA members: free
Non-members: $50.00 for the weekend
