Forde Case Goes Before the CAS

March 4, 2006 – The UCI Anti-Doping Commission acknowledges the decision of the Barbados Cycling Federation issued on February 23, 2006, regarding the case of rider Barry Forde.

The Barbados Cycling Federation considered that the anti-doping control undergone by Barry Forde on October 28, 2006 — at the 6-day event in Grenoble — which revealed high levels of testosterone in the athlete’s urine, might not prevail on the Barbados Cycling Federation to sanction him..

Having studied the case, the UCI Anti-Doping Commission does not agree with the arguments raised by the Barbados Cycling Federation.

Consequently, the International Cycling Union will lodge an appeal against this decision before the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne.
