Fontana City 2018 US Cup XCO UCI Results – Canada’s Jones Wins, Pendrel and L’Esperance 2nd

April 07, 2018 (Fontana City, California) – Canada’s Holden Jones delivered his newly minted Pendrel Racing Team it’s first victory winning the Junior Men’s 3-lap, 24.9km race at round one of the US Cup XCO UCI in Fontana City, California. Fellow Canuck Carter Woods (Cycling BC) finished 4th.

In the Junior Women’s 2-lap, 16.6km race Canadian Marianne Theberge (Equipe de Quebec Club Mathieu) finished third on the podium as Sofie Heby Pedersen (Danish Cycling Federation) won over Saga Molin (Team Bianchi/Varbergs MTB) from Sweden in second. Mireille Larose-Gingras (Can) Equipe Du Quebec / Sigma finished 5th.

Catharine Pendrel (Can) Clif Pro Team took home her second early podium of the season in the Elite Women’s 24.9km, 3-lap race won by Erin Huck (USA) CZ Racing-Scott with Eva Lechner (Ita) Clif Pro Team third and fellow Canuck Sandra Walter (Can) Liv Cycling Canada in fourth.

Canadians Andrew L’Esperance (Forward Racing-Norco) and Peter Disera (Norco Factory Team XC were second and third respectively in the 4-lap, 33.2km Elite Men’s race won by Christopher Blevins (USA) Specialized Racing.
