Floyd Landis CAS Appeal Date Set

January 14, 2008 — A date has been set for Floyd Landis’ appeal before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) report both Bloomberg and Reuters. The Landis case is scheduled to be heard by the CAS panel on March 19.

Landis tested positive for doping with artificial testosterone during the 2006 Tour de France that he won. He appealed his positive test result to the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) in 2007 and lost a split decision before a board of arbitrators this past September.

The international CAS is now Landis’ final chance to overturn his two-year ban from professional cycling. The appeal will apparently be heard in New York City and will last about five days.
