September 3, 2009 (London, ON) – The Forest City Velodrome and Ontario Trillium Foundation are pleased to announce several new programs at the indoor Velodrome in London Ontario. The FCV will be integrating an upgraded coaches lead program beginning in October. These programs will improve the skills of all track riders and will provide a great way to improve your winter training. Watch for the FCV Winter Training I, II, & III programs at the Forest City Velodrome.
Road, MTB and BMX coaches, The FCV will conduct a series of leadership sessions to help coaches up grade their track knowledge for their athletes in the Province, The first session will be Saturday September 12th at 11am, register by email: ForestCityVelodrome@live.com. The 2 hour session will demonstrate the basic drills the FCV uses for their youth program. Coaches are welcome to bring athletes at the beginner or advanced level.
In an effort to provide track programming to youth & adult riders, the FCV will be going out into the community to bring service groups in to participate in riding at the Velodrome. From scouts to hockey teams, area Tri club’s and indoor cycling (trainer workouts on the infield)Š. We want everyone in the cycling community to come to the FCV and enjoy the winter riding we provide.
A racing challenge will kick off the 2009-2010 racing season. Ontario track racers will be travelling to Detroit on Friday night September 25th for the first night of the Bloomer Park vs FCV Challenge. Racers from both tracks will then come to London on Saturday night September 26th for the finale of the weekend series. Points & Scratch races, Miss & Out and Madison’s will be contested for the inter-track competition. Admission is $5.00 for all adults with Kids always FREE. All categories and ages will be racing, from Cadet to EliteŠ. Should be a great kick off to the season.
