FCV 1,380-Lap Marathon with $5,000 in Prize Money – Feb. 5

December 27, 2010 (London, ON) – The Forest City Velodrome (FCV) is pleased to announce the return of true endurance racing back to Ontario for 2011. The Toronto-London RR was a staple on the calendar back in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The race was a 190km marathon. February 5, 2011 will see the return of this classic distance at the FCV. Premier track builder Peter Junek & Thor Espresso Bar in Toronto are sponsoring this 1,380-lap (190.350km) marathon.

There will be chip timing to keep track of the racers. Field limit is 35 riders. Entry fee will be $50 per rider.

There will be very few rules, other than “no aero bars or wheels” unrestricted gears. Prize winners must finish within 100 laps of the winner.
