April 12, 2007 (Alma, QC) – Guillaume Boivin of the Vallée de l’aluminium/Devinci (EVA/Devinci) team has been selected to ride at the Paris-Roubaix junior that takes place April 15, the same day as the pro race. He will participate in the 159km junior race wearing the colours of Belgian team, Prédictor-Lotto VC Ardennes. The junior race is 100 kms shorter than the famous pro race.

Boivin, 17, has racked up some important cycling laureates according to his sporting résumé — the UCI ranks him in 34th place worldwide. At the 2006, Tour de l’Abitibi, he placed third overall and wore a blue jersey for the being the best junior. Also in 2006, Boivin was named the best junior racer of the 10-stage Mardis Cyclistes de Lachine. Boivin will return to Canada on April 24 to rejoin EVA/Devinci and take part in North American races.

Boivin will also be part of the junior Canadian team, which after preparatory races in France on June 2 and, will participate at the KarlsburgTrophy in Germany from June 7-10, a stage race with a UCI 2.1sanction.
