EVA-Devinci’s Elite Team on Hold for 2009

October 6, 2008 – The Quebec-based EVA-Devinci elite road cycling team announced it is putting its senior program on hold. Only the junior team will continue to operate in 2009. Formed only two years ago, EVA-Devinci’s men’s senior team boasts an impressive record of over 40 podiums and 20 wins in major elite races in Quebec, Ontario and the US. The team was home to many of Quebec’s top riders including Dominique Perras, Mathieu Toulouse, Bruno Langlois, Jean-Sébastien Perron, Guillaume Boivin and Éric Boily.

“I hope to see other visionaries take on the challenge of putting together a major cycling team in Quebec in these difficult economic times. I continue to believe that all the ingredients are in place and that the only thing missing is for some key players to come forward with the dream of uniting the best cyclists in the province,” said the team’s director, Alexandre Lavallée.
