May 6, 2003 (Vancouver, BC) – Beginning tomorrow at the University of BC,
Escape Velocity Cycling Club brings you Vancouver's most hotly contested bicycle racing of
the season. From the first Tuesday of May until the last Tuesday in August,
the Tuesday Nighters bring the summer alive with affordable and entertaining
racing for all levels. From novice racer to World Champion, all cyclists are
welcome.

The Course:
The 2002 WTNC season ended a few weeks early, due to UBC's construction
efforts around Main Mall and Stadium Rd. For 2003, the WTNC course will
use a shortened loop around Thunderbird Stadium until UBC has finished
their re-paving of Main Mall. When the construction is finished and the
new course is safe to race, we will revert to the popular “long course”
used for the past few years. Escape Velocity and Cycling BC has met with
UBC Land and Building Services to ensure the continued use of the UBC
area for hosting the Tuesday Nighters and we thank them for their
support.

The Details:
First race costs $10 (number + race)
All races after cost $5

All cyclists require a Cycling BC license. If you do not have a Cycling
BC license, a day-of-race license can be purchased at the Tuesday

The Times:
– Sign-on starts at 6:00 PM
– Women's Novice & Cat 5 at 6:30 PM
– Cat 3 & Cat 4 at 7:00 PM
– Cat 1/2 & Women's 1/2/3 at 7:30 PM

If it is raining at UBC, the WTNC is cancelled.

* This schedule is subject to change once the Main Mall course is
available.

The Glory:
Cash and points are awarded for wins, places, and primes. Points go
towards overall series placings. Points do not go towards Cycling BC
license upgrades.
