Escape Velocity Spring Series Set to Go – New Youth Racing in 2010

February 3, 2010 (Canmore, AB) – The 2010 racing season is almost here, which means the Escape Velocity Spring Series is right around the corner. Racing will kick off on Sunday, March 7, and run every weekend until the dEVo Spring Series Stage Race on April 3-4. New for 2010
Youth Racing: As a further commitment to youth development in cycling, Escape Velocity is proud to introduce Youth racing on select dates during the Spring Series. These races are aimed at U17 and new young riders interested in trying out road racing. For full details please see the website.

Snake is Back: The challenging Snake course will make a return this year on the final weekend of racing as the road race stage of the Spring Series Stage Race. There is also a new extended Aldergrove Lake course this year.

Novice Racing Continues: After a successful year in 2009, Novice racing will be back again for 2010. It is open to any new racers interested in a fun introduction to road racing. Escape Velocity is also offering a Learn to Road Race Clinic on Saturday, March 6 which will cover all topics related to bike racing and is open to riders of any age and ability. *A Note on insurance: All racers must have a valid racing license to participate. For Canadian riders you must have a UCI license, a Cycling BC Citizens license, or you can buy a day-of license for $30. For out of country racers, you MUST have a UCI racing license. Unfortunately we are unable to accept USAC licenses, and we are also unable to sell day-of licenses.
