March 2, 2009 – The current world wide economic situation is generally a source of bad news for race sponsorship, but Canada’s spring classic, Paris to Ancaster, is pleased to be able to buck the trend. Race organizers are proud to welcome eload as its official sport drink of the 2009 Paris to Ancaster. In addition to providing samples to all participants, eload will be available at three aid stations along the race route.
This peerless product was first formulated in 1999 by leading Canadian sport medicine physician, and endurance athlete, Dr. Douglas Stoddard. Ahead of its time, eload was the first commercial sport drink to focus on much higher electrolyte ratios while giving athletes the ability to customize their formula. Formulated on years of medical and sport medicine training eload enjoys a solid reputation in the endurance world, including being the fluid of choice for the gold medal winning Canadian Men’s 8 Rowing team at the Beijing Olympics. Proudly Canadian and free from artificial colours, flavours, preservatives or stimulants eload is a natural fit for the Paris to Ancaster event.
Race entries for the 16th edition of Paris to Ancaster on April 19th are running about 20% ahead of last year at this time, another sign that despite race cancellations in Canada, the United States and Europe, the sport is as popular as ever. The addition of the 3 wave start format is proving to be extremely well received with wave two now approaching 50% capacity.
