A big thanks to show organizer, Jean-Yves Labonté, and his team at the Salon Info-Vélo for giving us the opportunity to present the 2013 edition of the EKOÏ/Devinci pro cycling team to the public!

Youth and Experience Make a Great Team at EKOI-DEVINCI in 2013
The EKOI-DEVINCI team is coming back strong in 2013 after an impressive first season on the UVI America circuit last year. The team aims to conquer a number of internationally ranked cycling events in North America this season. The team currently features twelve riders from four different countries and hopes to become an inspiration for the development of young, elite bike racers in Quebec. Several recruits were selected from the junior category, as well as a few prospects.

Frédéric Cossette, Yohan Patry and Samuel Gagnon are ready and determined to begin their senior career under the EKOI-DEVINCI banner. Félix Côté-Bouvette is about to begin a promising first North American season, wearing our colours, after beginning his elite cycling career in France last year.

New racers will add a healthy dose of international experience to our team of young cyclists. They include Michael Midlarsky of the United States, who was trained by the Garmin development program; Spanish climber Juan Miguel Perez Garcia; and Hungarian Artur Sagat, who already boasts a number of impressive finishes.

The athletes who were key to our success in 2012 are back including:

– Jean Samuel Deshaies – second place finish at the Mardis cyclistes de Lachine 2012 and winner of the third stage
– Émile Jean – winner of the Grand-Prix de Saint-Basile 2012
– Jordan Brochu – winner of the Prologue of the Tour de Québec 2012
– François Chabot – elite Quebec track champion 2012
– Antoine Matteau – elite Quebec road champion 2011

For a second season in a row, our goal is to improve in UCI-calibre races that we began competing in last year, including the Tour de Gila, the Philadelphia Championship and the Tour de Beauce. The team will be riding Devinci bikes for the second year in a row.

David Régnier-Bourque, marketing manager of the Saguenay company, explains that this partnership is made to last. “It is essential for us to continue to develop our products, and we have the privilege of testing our bikes in elite races with the best young cyclists in Quebec.” Again this season, we have the support of our valued sponsors and we would like to thank:

EKOI, Devinci, Trek coaching financier, Newalta, Cane Creek, Look, Schwalbe, velo product, Thule, Microclair, zoom media, and Enseignes professionnelles.
