April 30, 2005 — Discovery’s Viatcheslav Ekimov suffered serious injuries when hit by car around midday while training with teammate Lance Armstrong in Austin, Texas this past Thursday. He was diagnosed with a broken sternum and a broken vertebrae and his chances of participating at this year’s Tour are in doubt.
