February 12, 2015 (Brussels, Belgium) – Pedal‘s Christopher Balogh recently visited Belgium for more factory tours and the launch of the EDDY 70 Heritage line at the Merckx-Ickx Expo in Brussels as part of the celebrations for Merckx’s 70th birthday. Balogh takes a spin on an Mourenx69 on a typical drizzly Belgian day. The particular bike is named to Merckx’s solo Stage 17 win finishing in the town of Mourenx during the 1969 Tour de France. Balogh learns that each bike in the Merckx line has a special story and history from Merckx’s illustrious career with 525 victories. Also join us for a peek at the 2016 line at Merckx Cycles HQ. The 2016 collection launches on March 16, 2015 at the Taipei Bicycle Show. Every buyer of an EDDY70 bike receives a commemorative book.
At the gala, exclusive Canadian Merckx distributor Vellendtech’s Rob Vellend presented Eddy with a custom personalized Montreal Canadiens #74 jersey commemorating the year Merckx won the UCI Road World Championships in Montreal.
