May 24, 2006 – The Ed Rudolph Velodrome will kick off the Thursday Night Racing Series on Thursday, May 25. The velodrome is expecting riders in great numbers because they will earn double Rider of Year participation points throughout the night. This format will provide excitement among the competitors because this format provides an element of suspense as we wait and see who will be the Rider of the Year (ROTY) point’s leader.
The Season Opener is sponsored by Turin Bicycles. Turin has been in business for 41 years. The shop is located in the suburb of Evanston, a city north of the City of Chicago.
This season promises to be extremely exciting as the schedule calls for an increase number of races for women, juniors and masters riders.
On-site registration for this week’s events will take place from 5:45 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Racing begins at 7:00 p.m.
