October 27, 2006 – New Zealand’s Parliament has passed a Sports Anti-Doping Bill, according to Stuff, a news and information website in New Zealand. The Sports Minister, Trevor Mallard, said this puts the country at the forefront of the fight against doping adding that Drug Free Sport New Zealand would establish a set of rules to implement the provisions of the World Anti-Doping Code. The rules can then be adopted by New Zealand’s national sporting organizations.
