Funds raised from this event will help fund the purchase of a second Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) unit at Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is among the most advanced form of medical imaging technology available. It is a non-invasive test that produces detailed photos of organs, soft tissues, bone and virtually all other internal body structures. These images assist our expert team of Medical Imaging professionals to accurately and efficiently diagnose and treat a wide variety of patients. Currently, Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital has one MRI which operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week to meet the demand in our community. Although the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care has approved Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital for the necessary operating funds for a second MRI, the Foundation has been challenged to raise the funds to purchase and install this life-saving piece of equipment.

Eon’s Story
Eon D’Ornellas has been a cyclist since the age of fourteen. He’s a four time Olympian and two time Canadian Road Champion. Cycling is Eon’s joy and passion.
In June 2010 Eon suffered a stroke while out riding with his club the D’Ornellas Cycling Club. A club member who is also a fire fighter was able to identify the symptoms of the stroke and instructed the ambulance to take Eon to Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital.
There Eon received great care and treatment and has made a full recovery. Today he feels very grateful to Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital for saving his life and made a promise to raise funds and give back so that others would receive the great care he did.
Eon reached out with the idea of putting together an indoor ride to raise funds for Mackenzie Health to assist in the purchase of a second MRI scanner.
Please join Eon, City Buick and Lisa Bentley on December 16th for this great event and help us raise funds for a worthwhile cause!
