Donate To Help Ontario Track Athletes

July 19, 2004 – Although Ontario does not have a decent track to race on, our track program is still alive. Two individuals of note that have contributed in this area are Steve Karpik and Rob Good. They have both donated countless hours of their own time developing the track scene with very little resources. They are also contributing hundreds of dollars out of their own pockets to help get some promising young Juniors out to the National Track Championships in B.C. The OCA’s budget for High Performance is maxed-out this year so we are looking for corporate and/or individual supporters to step forward with financial help at any level.

We may be able to offer a tax receipt for this. Please call Steve Merker (416.426.7243) for details.

Jim Crosscombe, the OCA president, has put out a challenge to the membership. He has committed $100.00 to this project. Remember, any contribution, from as little as $10.00 will help!

Steve and Rob believe that these athletes can produce at least two medals this year and more medals for Ontario for years to come. They can be the new cornerstone for track racing in the province.
