April 19, 2004 – A group of volunteers have formed a Don Valley Trail Users Club under the guidance of the City of Toronto. Its aim is to work on efforts that promote smart trail use practices by those who use the Don Valley trail system.
The Club is comprised largely of mountain bike riders who hope to clean up the Don Trails on a regular basis, implement approved trail maintenance projects and ensure that the mountain bike trails remain open and become healthier than ever.
The Don Valley Trail Users Club (DVTUC) was established to ensure that through sustainable usage the trials of the Don will continue to be a treasure for the urban mountain biker, hiker and outdoor enthusiast.
DVTUC will be help coordinate clean-up initiatives,trail maintenance projects, post signs, educate trail users and work closely with the City of Toronto.
