January 27, 2004 – Canada's National Champion, Dom Perras, has sent a short note from New Zealand about the beginning of his season:

Hi to everyone,

Just a quick note to let you know I am starting this very important olympic “season” tommorow, January 28th, with the five day “Tour of Wellington” stage race, a UCI 2.5 event, as part of the Canadian National Team.

It's summer here and beautiful, although I've had a bit of asthma problems since I arrived, but I should be fine. After this I will head towards Malaysia to ride the 10 day Tour of Langkawi from february 6-15th, again with the Canadian National Team.
