April 25, 2007 – Discovery Channel has suspended Italian cyclist, Ivan Basso (winner of the 2006 Giro) as the Italian National Olympic Committee (Coni) has reopened its investigation into Basso’s alleged doping practices according to AFP. Basso has received a notice to appear before the committee.

The team has asked Basso not to participate in any races until the issue is resolved satisfactorily. Basso’s name is one of 50 professional cyclists involved in the Puerto Affair. His hearing date is set for May 2nd.
